An international call girl ring that solicited wealthy male clients via a web site that rated its hookers on a scale of diamonds (and charged accordingly) has been busted by federal agents.

With the bombshell news today that New York Governor Eliot Spitzer has been implicated in a prostitution ring, the Democratic politician will now always be known as “Client-9,” one of the johns described in a recently unsealed FBI affidavit detailing the operation of the Emperors Club, an international call girl ring.

Even for the libertine confines of Key West, Florida, the discovery Sunday morning of a bound man dressed in women’s clothing in an abandoned building was a bit strange for local cops.

Apparently concerned that he would be associated with a man facing prostitution charges, New York Governor Eliot Spitzer once returned a $50,000 campaign contribution from a political supporter who was charged in 2006 with paying women for sex.

Meet “Kristen,” the high-priced hooker who trysted with Eliot “Client-9″ Spitzer last month at that Washington, D.C. hotel. The 22-year-old prostitute’s real name is Ashley Alexandra Dupre (though she was born Ashley Youmans), according to a New York Times report.

March 15, 2008 — Ashley Alexandra Dupre has already made an estimated $200,000 - worth nearly four dozen four-hour trysts with the “gov of love” - from online music downloads in the wake of the Gov. Spitzer sex scandal - and she is poised to make millions more.

Dupre put two songs on the music Web site AmieStreet.com. They are selling at 68 cents each and have been downloaded about 300,000 times.

While Dupre’s MySpace pro file claims she is “all about” her music, that’s probably not where she will make the most dough.

Hustler magazine offered Dupre $1 million for a nude photo spread yesterday. Penthouse also made her an offer, though the figure has not been reported.

“Whatever [the magazines] offer her, that’s the opening bid,” said Howard Bragman, a longtime public-relations expert in Hollywood. “You start a bid ding war. Who isn’t going to buy this issue?”

Adult-film producers are also getting a rise over the idea of Dupre star ring in a porno flick. Kick Ass Pictures an nounced yesterday that they would pay her $1 million to star in a movie.

With all this new money coming in, her court-appointed public defender is probably on the way out.

“If she’s made that much money in that short amount of time, that would certainly make her ineligible for taxpayer-supported legal fees,” defense attorney Steve Zissou said.

“That should be brought to the attention of the judge. Certainly she is capable of paying her own legal fees.”

Dupre’s public defender, Don Buchwald, said in a statement yesterday that his client was upset over the media’s exploitation of her.

Buchwald said that “Spitzer is a public figure. Ms. Ashley Dupre is not. She was thrust into the public glare at age 22 without her consent.”

But the “unauthorized” attention is about to make Dupre rich.

Experts estimate that Dupre will bring in between $2.5 million and $5 million from companies looking to promote the hooker who brought down the governor.

Dupre would have to service Spitzer 581 to 1,162 times at her going rate of $4,300 for four hours to earn the same amount of money.

“If she’s got half a brain, she should be negotiating with the big companies now. If she doesn’t, she should call me,” Bragman said.

“My advice would be make your money now and quickly. She’ll need to manage it well because it’s got to last her a long time.”

Above and beyond the adult magazines and movies, Dupre could cash in on commercials, tabloid-TV shows, a sexy clothing line, perfume and more, said Adam Weiss, the New York public-relations specialist who once represented “Long Island Lolita” Amy Fisher.

“I guarantee some Hollywood movie mogul will give her a $250,000 deal if she wants it,” Weiss said.

Weiss suggested a line of cosmetics called “Client No. 9″ as lucrative starting point, but something like a book deal could bring in $1 million.

That’s not so far off, it seems.

Georgi Vodka yesterday offered Dupre “six figures” to be their cover girl. The company has ads with a bikini-clad butt on the back of almost every bus in the city, and would like to brand a vodka after her called “Vodka No. 9.”

“She’s probably got the most popular butt in America right now,” the company’s Jeff Schwartz said. “She’d be the No. 1 girl for all our advertisements. That’s a lot of exposure.”

A $1 million offer to the call girl linked to former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer was rescinded because she’d already shot footage for “Girls Gone Wild.” Now it might be the video maker who will lose out.

A lawyer for Ashley Alexandra Dupre, now 22, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Dupre was 17 when the footage was filmed. After hearing from her attorney, the company said the video’s Internet release will be delayed.

“Girls Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis originally reached out to Dupre, offering $1 million for her to appear in a non-nude spread for his company’s new magazine and a chance to join the “Girls Gone Wild” tour bus.

But on Tuesday “Girls Gone Wild” employees found archived footage of Dupre filmed in 2003, and Francis retracted the offer.

In a statement Wednesday, Francis said he had received an e-mail from Dupre’s lawyer Don Buchwald, saying Dupre may have been 17 in the videos shot in Miami and not 18 as Francis had first claimed.

In an e-mail to one of Francis’ publicists — forwarded by Buchwald to the AP — the attorney said he was “informed by Ashley that the video was in fact taken when she was underage (that is 17).”

Buchwald added in the e-mail that Francis was aware of Dupre’s age during the filming.

Francis said he bought Dupre a Greyhound bus ticket back home to North Carolina in 2003. Dupre returned home after she spent a week on the “Girls Gone Wild” bus in Miami and filmed seven full-length tapes, which included nudity, after signing legal papers, the company said.

“It was because she was underage that he sent her home on a Greyhound bus back to North Carolina. It would be outrageous at the very least to play the video of an underage female on the Internet,” Buchwald said in the e-mail.

Francis said all nude images of Dupre were taken in public places and contain no sexual contact.

He added that his company has a “corporate policy” not to use individuals under 18 in their videos. Given this policy, the company delayed the release of Dupre’s footage on the Internet. The company was “investigating the matter” and “will make our decision shortly,” Francis said.

Ed Griffith, spokesman for the Miami-Dade County state attorney’s office, declined to comment on the subject, adding that “we would be foolish to make a broad general statement.”

Lewd or lascivious acts committed upon or in the presence of those under 16 is illegal in Florida, said Miami-based defense attorney Roy Kahn. “Just taking nude video or photographs alone in a public place wouldn’t be illegal if the person is 17. It doesn’t violate lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor,” Kahn said.

Francis returned to California last week after being sentenced to time served and fines in Florida in a case involving the filming of underage girls. He still faces trial on federal tax evasion charges that carry a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.

By late Wednesday, Dupre was still depicted on the “Girls Gone Wild” Web site, with a free sampling on the front page of her dancing in a bikini and the rest available with a $29.95 monthly subscription.

“It’s kind of like finding a winning lottery ticket in the cushions of your couch,” Francis told the AP — before he saw the e-mail from Dupre’s attorney.

Hustler publisher Larry Flynt told the AP last Friday that he e-mailed Dupre offering her $1 million to appear nude in his magazine, but didn’t sound optimistic that she would settle for that amount.

Dupre’s public profile has skyrocketed since Spitzer resigned last week amid the prostitution scandal. He was accused of spending tens of thousands of dollars on prostitutes, including a February tryst with a call girl named “Kristen,” since identified as Dupre.

Dupre’s MySpace page was hit more than 5 million times in the days immediately after the scandal broke. Her musical efforts were listened to hundreds of thousands of times online and played on national airwaves.

That document, an excerpt of which you’ll find below, describes hooker interactions with 10 johns, including one client who paid cash for a February 13 rendezvous at a Washington, D.C. hotel. The New York Times, which broke the Spitzer story, has identified the 48-year-old politician as Client-9. As described in the FBI document, Client-9 (clearly a repeat customer) apparently went to great lengths to arrange the illicit Washington encounter, choosing to mail money in advance to the ring, instead of using a credit card. Client-9, whose conversations were recorded by an FBI wiretap, would not do “traditional wire transferring,” the affidavit quotes one Emperors Club employee remarking. Additionally, the affidavit notes that after her appointment with Client-9 ended, “Kristen” spoke with a Emperors Club booker, who said that she had been told that Client-9 “would ask you to do things that, like, you might not think were safe…” “Kristen” responded by saying, essentially, that she could handle guys like that.
